Local Rules

 

1. Etiquette

Common etiquette to be observed. Match committee may impose penalty for failure to observe.

2. Slow Play

If more than one fairway lost, call through following group.

3. Placing

When Placing is permitted a ball lying on own fairway in play may be lifted, cleaned and placed within 150mm (6 inches) but not nearer the hole.
Mark, Clean and Replace is often used instead of Placing.

4. Out of Bounds

All boundary fences. Club House, in Car Park and all areas outside white marker pegs.

5. Trees

A ball lying so near to a tree under two club lengths in height, as to interfere with stance and swing, MUST be lifted and dropped in accordance with Rule 24 2b(i).

6. Stones

A ball lying among stones, except in a hazard may be lifted and dropped within one club length of the nearest point of relief. See Rule 25-1b(i).

7. GUR

A ball in GUR MUST be lifted and dropped within 1 club length of the nearest point of relief. See Rule 25-1b(i).

8. Bare Ground

On mown fairways drop at nearest point of relief on fairway, but not nearer the hole.

9. Drains, etc.

A ball lying in a cut drain (except in a hazard) may be dropped within 1 club length of the nearest point of relief. See Rule 25-1b(i).

10. Suckered Ball

Anywhere on the course (except in a hazard) may be lifted and dropped as near as possible to where it lay but not nearer the hole.

11. Telephone Poles and Wires

A ball striking electric or telephone wires, poles or pylons, must be replayed without penalty. A ball under pylon - see rule 24-2.

12. Hedge

Ball lost in a hedge: Penalty 1 stroke and distance.

Ball in hedge but unplayable: Unplayable ball rule applies.

13. Pegs

Yellow pegs mark water hazards. Red pegs mark lateral water hazards. Blue pegs mark GUR. White pegs mark out of bounds.

14. Stream

All areas of water, stones and banks of streams are water hazards.

Distance markers are 137m from the front of the green.
