Hole 1 -  Cottles Corner 

This hole is a dog-leg to the left off an elevated tee. There are out-of-bounds areas behind the green and all the way down the left side. There is a stream that meanders across this hole and it effectively creates two water hazards to cross, one just in front of the tee with associated trees and another just before the green. There is also a drainage ditch that crosses the fairway but it is a free drop from there. The green slopes from back to front and there are run-off areas to both the left and right.

The hole is drivable but it is very risky with the out-of-bounds and hazard very close to the green. The recommended strategy is a mid to long iron to the centre of the fairway followed by a short iron to the green.
